"Worship as Invitation" Easter to PentecostThese pages were created as a supplemental resource for Indiana-Michigan Worship as Invitation: The Easter season is a time of joyous worship as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. In worship, we come to understand the magnitude and wonder of the resurrection as God's great act of invitation, invitation to life and salvation. In this series of Sundays, we will focus on passages from the Gospel of John and from the book of Acts. In a sense, we follow along with the earliest disciples as God invites them to participate in the new reality of resurrection life. God's resurrection invitation climaxes in the Holy Spirit's coming at Pentecost to form the church, which then carries God's invitation to the whole world. |
